The National TV and Radio Council of Ukraine issued a fine on Ukrainian TV channel “NewsOne” in the amount of almost 100 thousand UAH (3712 US$).

It is reported that during the inspection of the “NewsOne”, three types of violations of the law were discovered: “…in the context of the ban on the use of television and radio broadcasting to incite ethnic hatred; in the context of the ban on the broadcast of programs created after August 1, 1991, which contain the promotion, propaganda of the authorities of the “aggressor state”; in the context of violation of the requirements of truthfulness and reliability of broadcasted information.”

It was reported, that the fine must be paid within a month. If the requirements are not met, the regulator may impose new sanctions.

It should be reminded that October 4, 2018, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a resolution concerning the appeal to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the subject of imposing sanctions on seven legal entities-owners of TV channels “112 Ukraine” and “NewsOne”.
