Overall 42 presidential candidates were registered.

Central Election Commission of Ukraine refused to register People’s Deputy Nadiya Savchenko as the presidential candidate. Savchenko is currently suspected of preparatory to an act of terrorism and coup d’état.
“Having reviewed the submitted documents, the Commission found that they fail to meet the requirements of the electoral law and refused Nadiya Savchenko to be registered as a candidate for the presidency of Ukraine at the regular elections of the President of Ukraine”, – stated in the message of the CEC.

Also, the Central Election Commission registered “political strategist” and blogger Vladimir Petrov, who is suspected of alleged harassment of Natalia Bureiko, a student of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute student.

The CEC’s decision was carried out on Thursday, 7th of February. Petrov became the forty-second presidential candidate. He currently remains under house arrest.
